The project grew from a years-long friendship rooted in a shared love of exceptional musicianship and communal music-making. Alexa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Portland State University and spent years honing her songwriting before discovering a calling for community singing and founding Cascadia Folk Choir. Alex has spent more than a decade working as a sought-after multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and music director, adding the rich harmonic language that have become a hallmark of the band's sound. Together, they've created a project where artistry and participation carry equal weight.

Friends, neighbors, strangers, families, and first-time singers all become collaborators in an evening of music rooted in connection, joy, and shared humanity.
